This class will focus on learning rhythm, musicality, intro to Irish positions, and basic dance moves. This is an introductory class for our Irish Dance program.
Our skilled teachers have been trained through our "Jig 4 Joy" pre-school teacher training program! Learn more below!
Our Jig 4 Joy preschool dance program isn’t just cute and fun it’s a top-tier curriculum that’s been carefully developed and refined over the years to give your child the very best start in dance.
We’ve spent years crafting this program to:
• Support early childhood development through movement, rhythm, and creativity
• Build strong technical foundations in a playful, age-appropriate way
• Encourage joy, confidence, and imagination in every class
• Align with preschool learning milestones like listening, turn-taking, and following directions
Each lesson in Jig 4 Joy is built on experience, research, and love for our youngest dancers. It’s not just a dance class it’s a powerful, joyful introduction to movement, music, and learning.
Let your child discover the magic of dance through a program that’s as thoughtful as it is joyful!
Even at just 2 years old, children can begin to feel the rhythm of music and that’s a big deal! In our early childhood dance classes, we use playful songs, clapping, rhythm sticks and movement to help little ones find the beat and move with the music.
Why does this matter? Because finding the beat builds early rhythm skills, which are the foundation for dance, music, language development, and even reading!
Our classes are designed to be joyful and engaging, with simple, age-appropriate activities that encourage listening, coordination, and self-expression. Children learn best through play and keeping the beat is one of the most fun and effective ways to grow!
Whether it’s beating rhythm sticks together, stomping with your feet, clapping to a song, or dancing with scarves/ribbons, our littlest dancers are learning so much… and they don’t even know it!
Leaping and jumping are more than just fun they’re an important part of your child’s development! In our preschool dance classes, we teach little dancers how to leap over dots, jump with pointed toes, and take turns so everyone gets a chance to shine.
Here’s why it matters:
• Gross motor skill development: Leaping strengthens leg muscles, improves balance, and builds coordination on both sides of the body.
• Rhythm and musicality: We leap on the beat, helping children connect movement to music.
• Body awareness and control: Learning to leap with pointed toes helps dancers develop proper technique from an early age.
• Turn-taking and teamwork: Our leap lines teach patience, listening, and encouragement because everyone gets their turn!
• Staying up on our toes: this helps build balance, control, strong feet and ankles, helps with posture and alignment, and focus and body awareness.
For our preschool dancers, performing on stage isn’t just adorable it’s incredibly valuable for their growth and confidence!
Here’s why we love giving even our youngest dancers a chance to perform:
• Builds confidence: Taking the stage helps children feel proud of themselves and their accomplishments.
• Encourages focus and listening: Preschoolers learn to follow music cues, remember simple choreography, and stay with their group.
• Develops bravery: Even stepping onto the stage in front of an audience is a big achievement! It helps children overcome shyness and believe in themselves.
• Teaches teamwork: Dancing together as a class shows kids how to support and rely on each other.
• Creates joyful memories: Performing is exciting, fun, and something your child (and you!) will always remember.
• They get a costume: it is always fun to get a costume, video, flowers and picture!
Most of all, performing reminds our littlest dancers that hard work and practice lead to something wonderful which is a moment to shine, share, and celebrate all they’ve learned!
