This program is the perfect gateway into every kind of dance and movement class you will take. "Acrobatic technique focuses on balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based on flexibility, contortion and strength. "
"Acro's roots are in traditional Chinese dance, later appearing as a favored style on the Vaudeville stage. More recently, acro gained popularity with the wide spread success of the contemporary circus productions of Cirque du Soleil. Main stream media including dance television programs like 'So You Think You Can Dance,' and "America's Best Dance Crew' and 'Dance Moms' have further fueled its demands in amateur competitive dance ad stdio settings."
Beginner Acrobatic arts
There are 5 divisions of Acro Dance: Flexibility, strength, balancing limbering and tumbling. This program builds a foundation of these five elements. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
Intermediate Acrobatic arts
Intermediate acrobatics builds on the foundational skills learned in levels 1 and 2. Students follow the same framework laid out in the five dimensions of acrobatics and begin working on complicated walkovers, hand balances, limbering, and tumbling skills.
Intermediate and advanced acrobatics students ages 13 and up work together on more complex skills to prepare for drill team, cheer, and competitive dance teams. Students will work together to gain confidence in their tumbling including aerials, walkovers, and handsprings, as well as flexibility, strength, balance and limbering, to become a well rounded acrobatic performer.
